Why does nobody like roleplaying in Battlefield 3?

I'm promoting a really interesting and unique artist today.. her name is CrispinTwig and she has just begun commissioning characters.  Her deviantart can be found here crispintwig.deviantart.com/

I have followed CrispinTwig for quite some time as we used to attend university together, and she works very very hard on the art she puts into her gallery (even if sometimes she says otherwise).  Her style is very conceptual and stylised, and though you can tell she is inspired by Manga she does not follow a formula I have personally seen before.. simply put, IT IS AWESOME!

The initial concept process was hilarious.  We went through several variations of dinosaur games, zombie game, zombie paleontologist ressurecting dinosaurs from their boney graves, zombie scientists riding on zombie dinosaur backs holding guns and shooting down meteors...

The theme was of course Extinction which everyone doing the Jam had to follow so we have alot of earth survival games, space games and panda games being designed.  Last night we had a break and watched some scott pilgrim on our projector screen and played a made up role play card game which had very funny results.

It makes me sad that after 5 years at this university I am finally leaving in May.. but I think I will continue to Jam for many years if I can.

This weekend marks a very exciting time for the game development world....

It means 48 hours of no sleep, lots of pizza, and me pretending to look like I know exactly what I am doing.

This year I will formulate a game like no other, using the combined powers of earth, air, fire, water and cute baby animals.  Stand by world, cos this jam is about to get very sticky.
